John R Redlich of Huntington, New York
was born on Long Island. John grew up in Cold Spring Harbor attending Cold Spring Harbor High School where he first started painting when he became inspired by the Surrealist artists such as Salvador Dali, Rene Magritte and M.C. Escher. John majored in Advertising Art and Graphic Design at Farmingdale University, while taking private Fine Arts lessons with noted illustrator William C. Kautz. Mr. Kautz taught John Classic and Academic painting techniques.
Being from Long Island, John likes to paint Long Island life and nautical scenes. He spends his summers looking for and photographing these subjects. John is currently inspired by artists such as John Singer Sargent, Windslow Homer and other American impressionists
John is an Art Director at a agency in Hauppauge, New York and lives in Huntington, New York with his wife and two sons.
